32-0 UConn Women Enter Tournament #1 Overall Seed, 65% Chance to Win

In 2017-18, the UConn women showed, once again, that they're the most dominant team in women's college basketball.

The UConn women’s basketball team earned the number-one overall seed in the NCAA tournament this week, after a stellar 32-0 season.

UConn will play its first game of the tournament on Saturday at 11am ET, against 16-seed St. Francis of Pennsylvania.

It’s been a rough year for the UConn men’s basketball team, but the UConn women showed once again that they’re the best team in college basketball.

FiveThirtyEight gives them a 65-percent chance to win the entire tournament. The next most-likely team to win is Baylor, with a 12-percent chance of winning.

UConn is in the same region as two-seed South Carolina, which almost faced UConn in the national championship last year, before UConn’s stunning defeat to Mississippi State.

In a regular season matchup between UConn and South Carolina in February, the UConn women defeated South Carolina by 25 points.
