The popular publication listed Connecticut as one its "7 Governorships Republicans Could Pick Up This Year." Why? Because of Malloy's unpopularity.

Last week, Reclaim Connecticut brought you the news that Gov. Dan Malloy (D-Conn.) is the least popular governor in the nation.

It’s for that reason that Republicans may take back the governorship in 2018, says popular publication FiveThirtyEight.

The website included Connecticut on its “7 Governorships Republicans Could Pick Up This Year.” The governor is why:

Connecticut may be the one blue state where the environment actually favors Republicans: Outgoing Democratic Gov. Dan Malloy is less popular in the state than President Trump.

Before a Republican and a Democrat face off in November, primary voters will select, in August, from up to seven candidates on the Democratic side and up to 11 candidates on the Republican side.
