BREAKING: Esty Will Not Run for Re-Election in 2018April 2, 2018
The embattled congresswoman announced Monday afternoon that she will not seek re-election in November.
Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.) will not seek re-election to the U.S. House in November.
In a Facebook post, she said, “it is in the best interest of my constituents and my family to end my time in Congress at the end of this year and not seek re-election.”

Esty was first elected to the U.S. House in 2012. She had been rocked by scandal since last week, after reports revealed Esty kept on an abusive ex-chief of staff for months after she first learned of some allegations against him.
