CT Dems Staffers Team Up to Attack GOP Candidate … for Attending an Opioid Discussion?

Staffers for the Connecticut Democratic Party chose an interesting time to attack GOP candidate Dave Walker.

On Wednesday, Republican gubernatorial candidate Dave Walker tweeted from a discussion on the opioid epidemic at a meeting of the Republican Governors Association (RGA).

Walker made it clear the session included a discussion on opioid “solutions that Governors can act on.”

What followed, though, was a bizarre attack on Twitter from at least one staffer at the Connecticut Democratic Party.

Leigh Appleby and Michael Mandell teamed up in an attempt to tie Walker to Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and VP Mike Pence, a former governor of Indiana, and attack Walker on the issue of deficits.

The attacks from Appleby and Mandell came not after a tweet from Walker on health care, taxes, or the GOP, but on the opioid crisis impacting America. Some may question the appropriateness of a partisan attack on an issue typically considered non-partisan.
