Democratic Polling Firm Shows Closer CT-Gov. Race Than Q, Sacred Heart

Public Policy Polling (PPP), a firm that works with Democrats, has the race between Ned Lamont and Bob Stefanowski close.

A Democratic polling firm’s survey of the Connecticut gubernatorial race shows a closer race than recent polls from either Quinnipiac University or Sacred Heart University, according to a report from the Hartford Courant published Monday.

The Courant wrote that Republican Bob Stefanowski is down five points to Democrat Ned Lamont, 43-38, in a new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP).

That’s not great news for Stefanowski, but it puts the race closer for the Republican than recent public polls from Quinnipiac University and Sacred Heart University.

  • Quinnipiac’s October poll had Lamont up eight points on Stefanowski (47-39)
  • Sacred Heart University’s September poll had Lamont up 6.2 points on Stefanowski (43.1-36.9)
  • Quinnipiac’s August poll had Lamont up 13 points (46-33)
  • Sacred Heart University’s August poll had Lamont up 3.9 points on Stefanowski (40.8-36.9)

If the PPP poll is to be believed, than the Lamont-Stefanowski race is closer than it has been in two months.
