Do You Have 8 Bathrooms? Dem Gov Frontrunner Ned Lamont Does!June 5, 2018
The amount of bathrooms Ned Lamont has is becoming an issue in the Democratic gubernatorial primary.
Ned Lamont may be seeking the governor’s mansion, but he already has a mansion of his own, in a way: the millionaire’s Greenwich home has eight bathrooms, according to Lamont’s primary opponent Mayor Joe Ganim (D-Bridgeport).
The Hartford Courant‘s Neil Vigdor checked and, indeed, Lamont’s home has eight bathrooms:
Ganim wasn’t exaggerating about Lamont’s home, which a check of Greenwich’s assessment records shows is 8,337 square feet and has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It’s full market value was listed as $6.8 million.
Ganim will try to draw this contrast with Lamont, with the implicit suggestion being Ganim is more in-touch with Connecticut voters, and should represent the party on the gubernatorial ballot in the fall.
Ganim, of course, has his own issues, having went to prison for public corruption.
GOP-endorsed candidate for governor Mayor Mark Boughton (R-Danbury) also seized on the issue of Lamont’s eight bathrooms, in a Tuesday morning tweet.
Eight bathrooms? How out of touch is Ned Lamont?? Good grief… https://t.co/O270EoOeE1

It may be harder for Lamont to connect with voters – Democrats and Republicans – if he consistently needs to defend the amount of bathrooms in his Greenwich home.
