The former two-time presidential candidate, who's currently running for U.S. Senate in Utah, endorsed Thad Gray on Tuesday.
Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and current U.S. Senate candidate in Utah, endorsed Thad Gray, the Republican candidate for treasurer, on Tuesday.
“Thad Gray is the most qualified candidate to be Connecticut’s next State Treasurer,” Romney said. “I hope all Connecticut residents see he is the man to help cure the state’s severe financial challenges.”
Gray said he was honored by the endorsement from the two-time GOP presidential candidate:
“I am honored to have the endorsement of such a great American leader. Governor Romney’s support, given his stellar record in the private sector and public office [it] is very humbling.”
Romney is likely the next U.S. senator from Utah. Gray is running against Shawn Wooden in the state treasurer’s race.
