The former first selectman of Trumbull released 27 new endorsements, many from the town he represented for eight years.
Former first Selectman Tim Herbst (R-Trumbull) released a new slate of 27 endorsements on Tuesday morning, bringing the total for his gubernatorial campaign to 48.
“Across every corner of Connecticut we are building a movement to upend business-as-usual in Hartford and restore prosperity to our state,” Herbst said.
Herbst’s new endorsements include 13 officials from his hometown of Trumbull, three from Stamford, and four from Woodbridge. He also boasts two Republican Town Committee (RTC) endorsements and seven endorsements from GOP State Central Committee members.
“I am humbled by the growing number of elected officials and party leaders who recognize we need a proven reformer and Hartford outsider to defeat the Malloy machine in November and bring real change to Connecticut,” Herbst added.
Herbst is a top contender for the GOP nomination for governor. The nominating convention for the state party takes place in May, and the primary is in August.
