Herbst Summer CT-Gov. Playbook Includes Football-Themed AdJuly 23, 2018
The former first selectman of Trumbull is leaning on his football roots in a new ad made for television.
Former First Selectman Tim Herbst (R-Trumbull) is going on the air this month with a new, football-themed ad for his campaign to be the next governor of Connecticut.
“There could be no more fitting spot for me to ramp-up my campaign for governor than the field where I played football under legendary coach Jerry McDougall,” Herbst said in a campaign release. “Coach McDougall taught me to have pride in my community, to fight and to win, and most importantly the value of sacrifice for the greater good.”
The ad features upbeat music and a message to “clean house in Hartford.”
The ad is part of what the Herbst campaign calls “an over $200,000 media blitz through the end of July.”
Herbst faces Mayor Mark Boughton (R-Danbury) and businessmen Steve Obsitnik, David Stemerman, and Bob Stefanowski in an August 14 primary.
