Lamont Brings in a Big Star to Boost His Campaign

The gubernatorial candidate is trying to rally Democrats days before the midterm elections, and he's bringing in a big name to do so.

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Ned Lamont will bring the former vice president of the United States, Joe Biden, to Hartford on Friday, in a last-bid effort to turn out Democratic votes up and down the ticket.

Biden tweeted about the rally on Wednesday night, and his post had racked up over 1,700 retweets by Thursday morning.

The ex-VP will also rally for Jahana Hayes, the Democratic rising star running in Connecticut’s Fifth Congressional District.

Lamont told WTNH/Channel 8 on Wednesday that he was excited to have Biden coming to rally Connecticut voters:

Biden, of course, is considering a 2020 presidential run. He may have a future rival in Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), but for now the two are joining forces to get Lamont across the finish line against Republican Bob Stefanowski this November.
