Nero Fiddled? Malloy to Aspen, Colorado

Dan Malloy is headed to the ski resort town of Aspen, Colorado, for a summer conference hosted by the Democratic Governors Association (DGA).

Connecticut is entering its second month without a budget, and is staring down a two-year, $3.5 billion budget deficit that has yet to be resolved.

Some Connecticut leaders may just want to get away. Gov. Dan Malloy (D-Conn.) is doing just that this weekend.

Reporters tweeted the news on Thursday morning that Malloy is bound for Aspen, Colorado, where he’ll spend two days at a conference hosted by the Democratic Governors Association (DGA).

Malloy chairs the DGA.

Google lists Aspen as a “ski resort town and year-round destination for outdoor recreation,” with “high-end restaurants and boutiques.”

The weather there is expected to be 74 degrees and sunny on Saturday. In Hartford, it will be raining.
