You may see a new ad on your TV and computer screens soon that focuses on Ned Lamont and Gov. Dan Malloy (D-Conn.). And you may be seeing a lot of it.
The ad, posted to the YouTube page for a group called Change PAC on Thursday, features a kitchen-table conversation between a mother and a daughter. The daughter is graduating college soon, and is about to leave Connecticut for better job prospects elsewhere. The mother and the daughter then discuss Democratic gubernatorial nominee Ned Lamont as “Malloy third-term.”
The ad is being run by a group called Change PAC. According to the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC)’s Campaign Reporting Information System (CRIS), all of Change PAC’s contributions have come from the Republican Governors Association (RGA). The RGA contributed $1.58 million to Change PAC in August and September.
Change PAC has purchased $1.28 million worth of television advertising, according to CRIS records, and $182,800 worth of digital advertising.
