No Apology From Murphy 24 Hours After Fundraising Off Vegas, as Dems Talk 2020

No apologies from Chris Murphy, on his active Twitter page or his campaign website, after fundraising off the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) has not apologized for fundraising off the Las Vegas shooting around 24 hours after the controversy first broke, according to all available signs on social media and his campaign website.

Reclaim Connecticut wrote on Wednesday that Murphy sent a campaign email on the incident that “directed donations to his own re-election campaign and three progressive gun control groups.” The Hartford Courant and Daily Ructions first reported on the push.

As of Thursday morning at 9am ET, Murphy had not addressed the controversy on his active Twitter page:

Or his Facebook page, or his campaign website.

Meanwhile, Murphy is receiving a 2020 boost, according to a Hill article titled: “Chris Murphy’s profile rises with gun tragedies.” In the profile, several Democrats praise Murphy as someone who should be in the mix for the Democratic presidential primary in the coming years.
