Politico: Murphy 1 of 4 Dem Senators Part of Effort to Turn State Legislatures Blue

Murphy and three other potential 2020 Democrats are trying to keep, or turn, state legislatures around the country blue.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is one of four Democratic U.S. senators involved in an effort to keep or turn state legislatures blue, according to a new report from Politico.

The outlet’s Edward-Isaac Dovere reported:

Four Democratic senators in the discussion as potential 2020 candidates are joining the fight to turn state legislatures blue, recording ads for Sister District, a Democratic group connecting volunteers to down-ballot campaigns from far away.

The four senators are: Murphy, Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), and Tim Kaine (D-Va.).

Murphy was quoted in Politico, as well:

“There are going to be hundreds, if not thousands of state legislative races all across this country that are going to be decided by 100 votes, 200 votes,” Murphy says.

It’s one more sign Murphy may run in 2020.
