Rolling in Dough: See Where Blumenthal Ranks Among Richest U.S. Senators

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) is worth $70 million. Where does that put him among the richest members of the U.S. Senate, and Congress at large?

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) is the second-wealthiest member of the 100-person U.S. Senate, according to new rankings released by Roll Call on Tuesday.

Blumenthal is worth $70 million, good enough to make him the second-wealthiest member of the Senate and the ninth-wealthiest member of the 535-person Congress.

Blumenthal was worth $67 million as of 2015, meaning he has picked up about $3 million in net worth in under three years.

Reclaim Connecticut has pointed out that, despite Blumenthal’s net worth, he still picks up state-funded health coverage and over $300,000 in state pensions (since 2011).
