Senate GOP Leader Comes to GOP Senator’s Defense After He’s Shut Out of Union Forum

Len Fasano thinks his fellow senator, George Logan, was treated unfairly by SEIU 1199.

Senate Republican President Pro Tempore Len Fasano (R-North Haven) spoke out on Monday after his fellow senator, George Logan (R-Ansonia) was allegedly shut out of a union-sponsored forum this weekend.

According to Fasano’s office, Logan:

…”was denied an opportunity to address the group of union members after previously being invited to speak at the event. He was asked to leave the event, while Democrat candidates were welcomed to speak.”

Fasano said:

“Every candidate deserves an equal opportunity to speak with the constituents they are working to represent. Our nation was built by the voices of many, not by silencing people and prejudging them. It is disappointing that union leaders would deny their rank and file members an opportunity hear from their Republican state senator.”

Fasano also made it clear Republicans “are ready, willing and able to meet with and speak with” union members across the state, “but their leaders are denying them that opportunity.”
