SHOCKER: Malloy’s 2-Minute Video, Stagnant Economy Fail to Convince Amazon, CT Misses Cut

The governor appeared prominently in a video pitching Amazon on Hartford and/or Stamford for their second headquarters. It didn't work.

On Thursday morning, Amazon announced 20 finalists for its new headquarters:

Four northeastern hubs – Boston, Newark, New York City, and Philadelphia – made the final cut.

Cities that didn’t make the cut? Hartford and Stamford, which Gov. Dan Malloy (D-Conn.) and the state of Connecticut submitted as an official bid to Amazon for their massive headquarters site.

Malloy featured prominently in Connecticut’s pitch video:

Surprisingly, the pugnacious governor and Connecticut’s stagnant economy failed to attract Amazon’s attention.
