The Tax Foundation ranks Connecticut's business tax climate 44th out of 50 states.
The Tax Foundation released its annual ranking of the business tax climates in the 50 states, and Connecticut came in a disappointing 44th place.
The state is down one place from 2017, when it ranked 43rd of 50.
Connecticut ranks poorly, in particular, on individual taxes (37th of 50) and property taxes (49th of 50).
Neighboring states Massachusetts (#22) and Rhode Island (#41) fare better. Connecticut’s neighbor to the west, New York, fares worse (#49).
Connecticut’s ranking is seventh-worst in the nation.
