Trouble for Lamont? Murphy Tweets to Steer Voters Away From Oz GriebelNovember 5, 2018
The junior senator sent a tweet urging voters to not pick Oz Griebel on Tuesday, because it may help Bob Stefanowski win.
Might petitioning gubernatorial candidate Oz Griebel be causing Democrat Ned Lamont worry, one day before Election Day? Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who has arguably the largest megaphone of Lamont’s supporters, sent a tweet Monday afternoon urging voters to steer clear of Griebel on Tuesday, for it may help Stefanowski win:
Listen, @OzForGovCT is a decent guy. But he’s got zero shot to win, and a vote for him tomorrow is as good as a vote for Donald Trump.
If votes for Oz put Trump’s guy Stefanowski over the top, Trump celebrates a win in Connecticut.

Patrick Trueman, Stefanowski’s campaign manager, framed Murphy’s tweet as “[f]ull fledged panic”:

A Quinnipiac poll released last week found that, of Griebel voters, 45 percent would make Lamont their second choice and 23 percent would make Stefanowski their second choice. That suggests Griebel is pulling more voters away from the Democrat than he is the Republican.
