Trump Blasts Blumenthal: He “Defrauded Voters,” Then “Cried Like a Baby”

The president took to Twitter on Monday morning to blast Connecticut's senior senator, Richard Blumenthal.

President Trump went after Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Monday morning, blasting Blumenthal in three tweets about the senator’s Vietnam service lies.

In fact, Trump has tweeted about Blumenthal and his Vietnam “lie” on two other occasions: in February 2017 and in May 2017.

Blumenthal responded via Twitter on Monday, saying “[n]o one is above the law.”

Blumenthal apologized in 2010 for fabricating aspects of military service. Blumenthal, then attorney general of Connecticut, but running for U.S. Senate at the time, claimed he served in Vietnam when he actually did not.

The issue has received new attention given Trump’s tweets this year.
