Trump Roasts Blumenthal: “Take a Nice Long Vacation in Vietnam”August 8, 2017
The president continued to roast Richard Blumenthal over his Vietnam lies on Monday afternoon.
President Trump released his fourth tweet in one day on Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Monday afternoon, encouraging Connecticut’s senior senator to “take a nice long vacation in Vietnam …. so he can at least say he was there.”
I think Senator Blumenthal should take a nice long vacation in Vietnam, where he lied about his service, so he can at least say he was there

The Trump tweet builds on three others from Monday morning criticizing Blumenthal for lying about his military service before he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010. Blumenthal suggested to Connecticut voters that he served in Vietnam, when he never actually did.
Blumenthal has criticized Trump for alleged links between his campaign and Russian interference in the 2016 election, and kept up that criticism on Monday evening, according to the Washington Examiner:
On CNN later Monday, Blumenthal again tried to downplay any personal dispute with Trump.
“There is an ongoing special counsel investigation,” Blumenthal said. “It is real. It is based on facts. That’s what is important. That focus is what really matters. Our national security and the rule of law are at risk, and that’s where our focus should be. It is not about me.”
Trump has sent at least nine tweets about Blumenthal since February.
