Walker Announces 11 CEO Endorsements

Dave Walker, a Republican candidate for governor, announced the endorsement of 11 business leaders on Monday.

Dave Walker, a Republican candidate for governor, and one of five GOP candidates to clear the $250,000 fundraising threshold, announced the endorsements of 11 current or former CEOs on Monday.

“I’m very grateful for the support of these prominent business leaders,” Walker said. “Connecticut has significant challenges, but I know that we can fix them. I have a plan to balance our budget, cut taxes, and fix the state’s pension problem. We will get Connecticut growing again and bring businesses and jobs back to our great state.”

Endorsements include current or former CEOs of household names like Deloitte (J. Michael Cook), JPMorgan Chase (William B. Harrison, Jr.), MetLife (Rob Henrikson), and Brooks Brothers (Bill Roberti).

It’s a different kind of endorsement announcement than the Connecticut gubernatorial race has seen as of late. Mayor Mark Boughton (R-Danbury) and First Selectman Tim Herbst (R-Trumbull) have announced dozens of endorsements from elected officials and political leaders as of late.

Walker’s announcement – endorsements from prominent men and women in the business world – is a notable difference.
